85 glacier Lakes

85 glacier lakes mirror the rocky heights of Retezat Mountains, in the most impressive montane national park of Romania. Vestiges of quaternary ice age, the cauldrons at 2000 meters lost the track of the previous glaciers in the deep tarns with sparkling waves. The largest glacial lake is Bucura, with a surface of 11 ha, and the deepest is Zanoaga – 29 meters from the same Retezat Mountain.
